Here is the first Engine the CVFC ever had and it was built by the charter members by hand and featured a chemical tank, which combined basically baking soda with a powerful acid to produce pressure to move the water from the tank thru a hose. Due to the quick response of our members, we were able to quickly extinguish and control any extension. Thank you to our mutual aid departmentd for responding. Fairmount Fire Company, Long Valley Fire Company, Chester First Aid Squad, Chester Police Department, and Atlantic Mobile Health. Additional thank you to Peapack Fire for responding to a smell of smoke from dryer, then standing by at our station.
