Here is the first Engine the CVFC ever had and it was built by the charter members by hand and featured a chemical tank, which combined basically baking soda with a powerful acid to produce pressure to move the water from the tank thru a hose. **** FIRE DANGER REMAINS HIGH DESPITE RAIN ****

The little bit of rain we got the other night doesn't change anything sadly. We are still under extreme dry and hazardous conditions for fire and its spread.

Please stay on your toes and take care not to burn anything outdoors in firepits etc. We will all get thru this safely if everyone is vigilant and careful, remember if you see something, say something.

CVFC provides mutual aid to neighboring towns Friday and early Saturday morning

Last night and early this morning the CVFC was called upon for mutual aid into Washington Township to our west and then this morning we were again called upon for assistance into Mendham Township for brush fires, in both cases our Brush Truck and 4500 Gallon Tanker were key in these incidents coming to a good ending, both have been brought under control.

Once again today there are warnings up for lower humidity and winds strong enough to spread any ground fire to a uncontrollable state in a matter of seconds.
